ISF Cambodia’s Football Coaches Selected as National Coaches for the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia

ISF Cambodia is proud to announce that three of its esteemed football coaches have been selected as national coaches for the upcoming 2023 ASEAN Para Games. Sok Ranya, Kep Sameth, and Im Sopheak Makara will be leading their respective teams in the prestigious multi-sport event, showcasing the talent and dedication of athletes with disabilities. Additionally, three ISF’s coaches, Sorn Deth, Roeun Ravy, and Kong Chanrith will be their assistant coaches.

Ranya, who’ll be assisted by Chanrith, has been chosen to lead the Goalball games, with seven players from ISF’s All Abilities Programme joining her. Known for her exceptional coaching skills and commitment to the development of para-athletes, Ranya is well-equipped to guide her team towards success in this challenging and exciting sport.

Sameth, another outstanding coach from ISF, will be leading the 5-a-side football games with support from ISF’s coaches, Deth and Ravy. He will have ten players from ISF’s Football Programme under his guidance. Sameth’s expertise and passion for the game have been instrumental in the growth and achievements of his players, and his leadership will undoubtedly inspire the team to give their best on the field.

Makara, a dedicated and skilled coach, will be leading the Cerebral Palsy (CP) football games. His wealth of experience in coaching para-athletes and his ability to bring out the best in his players will be invaluable in leading his team to success in this highly competitive sport.

The selection of these six ISF coaches as national coaches and assistant coaches for the 2023 ASEAN Para Games is a testament to their hard work, expertise, and dedication to preparing their athletes for this prestigious event. They have been working tirelessly to ensure that their teams are ready to compete at the highest level and make their mark on the international stage.

ISF’s Football Programme has long been recognized for its outstanding contributions in providing athletes with disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential. Since its inception in 2011, the programme has been instrumental in addressing the marginalization of minorities by offering inclusive sports initiatives to players living with disabilities or HIV. It remains one of the only platforms in Cambodia that organizes tournaments and integrated events for people with disabilities or HIV, making a significant impact on their lives.

The 2023 ASEAN Para Games, hosted in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from June 3rd to 9th, will bring together athletes with disabilities from across Southeast Asia. It is a remarkable event that highlights the power of sport in promoting inclusivity, showcasing the abilities and determination of para-athletes, and fostering unity among diverse communities.

ISF Cambodia is honored to be a part of this historic occasion and looks forward to supporting its athletes as they compete against participants from around the ASEAN region. The selection of Ranya, Sameth, Makara, Deth, Ravy and Chanrith as national coaches and assistant coaches is a testament to ISF’s commitment to inclusivity and respect for all abilities, and we are confident that their teams will achieve great things at the 2023 ASEAN Para Games.
