VIDEO: ISF Kicks off Workout at Home with a Cause with a Plank Challenge

ISF Takes a Plank Challenge

ISF kicked off its Workout at Home for a Cause fundraiser with a plank challenge. This isometric exercise is performed by maintaining a position similar to a push-up and increases core strength. Eleven energetic ISF staff from multiple departments took to our Steung Meanchey school football pitch to see how long they could hold it. See the intense competition unfold and find out who took first place above.

While we all stay at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ISF is using this Workout at Home for a Cause challenge to raise much needed funds for affected families. ISF outreach programmes are distributing food parcels, giving health and hygiene education as well as negotiating rent deferment with landlords, though we wanted to do more to call attention to these families’ situations. Also, in light of our health and sports initiatives, we aim to point to alternative ways people can stay healthy while we keep to the World Health Organisation’s social distancing guidelines.

All donations raised will benefit over 700 poor and maginalised children and their families. Crises like this pandemic overwhelmingly affect the working poor. In fact, 90% of families we surveyed lost over half their income or their job since this global disaster began. The challenge, running from 1st to 31st May, can be faced alone or compete with friends and family to increase the fun! If a month-long commitment is too much, consider making a donation to the ISF Team fundraiser page. Despite the fact many of us are physically separated, sheltering in place during the COVID-19 crisis, we can still all work together to help one another.
