AIA Cambodia and ISF Cambodia forge stronger ties in transformative partnership extension
We, together with AIA Cambodia, a member of AIA Group Limited, the leading life insurance company in Asia, are extremely happy to announce the renewal of our impactful partnership. Over the years, this collaboration has brought about significant positive changes in the lives of children and communities and AIA Cambodia is committed to making an even bigger impact in the coming years.
Our partnership started in 2017 and since then we have worked together on a mission to inspire kids to lead healthier lives, instill the values of teamwork and sportsmanship, and open doors to brighter futures. Additionally, AIA Cambodia has inspired a growing number of people to embrace a healthier lifestyle, creating a ripple effect of positive change within communities.
A pivotal aspect of our enduring partnership is the AIA-ISF Youth League, which has been a cornerstone of our collaboration since AIA Cambodia began sponsoring it in 2017. As we fast forward to 2023, the progress is nothing short of astonishing. Each year our Youth League reaches over 1,500 children, expanding its footprint from a single province to impacting youth in five different provinces over the course of our partnership. The Youth League has not only provided a platform for young talents to showcase their skills but has also had a long-lasting impact, with 46 former ISF players achieving their dreams of playing in various football clubs, including 29 talented female athletes. Furthermore, 14 former ISF players have transitioned into coaching roles with various clubs, Football Federation of Cambodia, and ISF itself.
Among the other notable projects brought to life by AIA Cambodia and ISF is the “Jump Start a Better Life” campaign in 2022, which saw an incredible 30,000 participants coming together to set a record for the “Most Number of Photos of People Jumping” in the Asia Book of Records. This initiative not only promoted physical activity but also engaged, educated, and inspired people to start their physical, mental & financial wellness.
AIA Group also sent 24 female players from ISF and partner organisations on a life-changing trip to Koh Samui, Thailand, where they participated in the AIA-Spurs Elite Football Camp and received training from top-notch coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Elite Development team. This experience enhanced their skills and broadened their horizons, reinforcing AIA’s commitment to empowering youth through sports and education.
Four ISF students recently embarked on a 14,000 km journey filled with remarkable firsts. Their maiden trip abroad led them to a renowned English football landmark as mascots for Tottenham Hotspur during the 37th day of the Premier League 2022/23 season—an unparalleled experience. Their incredible journey, from makeshift play on a waste ground to walking alongside pro players, attests to their dedication. They also had the joy of exploring the UK, savouring new cuisines, and having fun!
In collaboration with AIA Cambodia, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club demonstrated their support for ISF in a remarkable gesture. During their home match against Sheffield United in May, they replaced AIA’s logo on their shirts with ISF’s logo, symbolising their dedication to our cause. After the match, the team organised an impactful online auction, featuring signed, match-worn shirts. This auction raised an astounding sum of over $64,000, which was directed towards supporting 40 students through our Catch-Up Programme in 2021.
