Our inclusive Football Programme, shortlisted for the 2018 Beyond Sport Sport for Health and Well-being Award, provides over 4,000 boys, girls and young adults of all abilities with the opportunity to enjoy their youth and participate in children’s football in Cambodia. We work with state schools and NGOs in over eight provinces to develop grassroots football for severely disadvantaged children.
However, our Football Programme is about more than the joy of sport. It provides children with necessary knowledge and life skills to help them grow into happy and healthy adults. ISF and its coaches use training sessions as an important vehicle for social change and utilise coaches as positive role models for young players who often lack them. Our Football Programme is sustainable and able to grow to meet the needs of the local communities.
In 2016, we opened the ISF Sports Ground, a purpose-built football field in Phnom Penh. It comprises two full-sized grass football fields (109×72m and 103×65m), an all-weather futsal pitch (30×21m), toilet and changing facilities, free parking and shading for spectators.
