At ISF Cambodia, we believe in the power of sports, education, and sustainability to transform lives and build a better future. We are thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with adidas and Common Goal, where we aim to refurbish our ISF Sports Ground and ISF Stung Meanchey Education Centre’s football pitch, enhancing their sustainability and creating a positive impact on disadvantaged communities. This collaborative project encompasses a range of initiatives aimed at raising awareness on sustainability, reducing plastic waste, and empowering individuals to take action for a greener world.

Illuminating the Path with Solar Energy
In our pursuit of sustainable solutions, we understand the challenges faced by our beneficiaries who train after school in the evening hours. With power outages becoming increasingly frequent due to the prolonged rainy seasons caused by climate change, we have decided to install 16 solar lights on our pitches. This innovative approach ensures that even during long power outages and after sunset, our beneficiaries can continue their training sessions using clean and renewable solar energy. By extending the usability of our facilities, we not only create a safer environment for training but also generate additional sustainable income by renting out the grounds to local businesses.

Reducing Plastic Waste and Empowering Communities
Plastic pollution is a pressing global issue, and we are determined to tackle it head-on. To reduce single-use plastic, we will provide our suppliers with reusable bags, created by participants in the ISF Sewing Project, to package our beneficiaries’ football uniforms and shoes. This initiative not only reduces plastic waste but also empowers disadvantaged women by creating employment opportunities. Additionally, during our extensive calendar of football events, we will distribute reusable bottles for participants to refill at conveniently located drinking water stations. Furthermore, we will invest in reusable cutlery for refreshments, minimizing the use of disposable plastic utensils. By integrating recycling/compost bins and awareness-raising posters, we aim to promote better waste management practices and inspire a shift towards a more sustainable mindset.

Empowering Change Agents through Education and Workshops
Education is the key to igniting change, and we are committed to spreading awareness about environmental sustainability. To complement our initiatives, we will conduct workshops on plastic overconsumption, reduction, and recycling for all ISF staff and 700 students. In addition, we will invite 30 staff members from partner schools and NGOs to join these workshops, enabling them to act as role models and change leaders within their communities. By providing education on environmental protection, plastic reduction, and climate action, we aim to empower our staff and beneficiaries to become passionate advocates for a sustainable future.

Football for Good: Empowering Environmental Stewards
Football has the power to inspire and unite, and we intend to leverage it as a force for good. Our dedicated ISF football coaches will deliver activities that integrate sustainability education, empowering almost 2,000 players to become environmental stewards. By blending the joy of football with valuable lessons on protecting the environment, we hope to cultivate a new generation of eco-conscious individuals who can drive positive change within their communities.
