ISF’s Annual English Singing Contest

ISF’s Annual English Singing Contest

After the success of the latest years, finals of ISF’s Singing Contest 2022 were held on 7th October to showcase students’ talents, build their confidence and challenge themselves with English songs. This contest is part of our creative approach to teaching English: by singing songs, children have fun while improving their English pronunciation and English-speaking skills.

Some finalist students, like Sida*, were at first very shy, but they bravely overcame their fears and sang amazingly. On the other hand, other students, like Rithy*, couldn’t wait to perform. All our finalists sang amazing songs such as Angel Baby by Troye Sivan, Your Man by Josh Turner, and How Far I’ll Go from the movie Moana.

The winner of this year’s ISF English Singing Contest is Thara* with her joyful interpretation of Love Story by Taylor Swift. The public was completely stunned by it and clapped their hands during the whole performance.

All the singers were so good that it was a very difficult decision for our three judges. Judge Barbara said “It was amazing to see how much commitment all students put into their interpretation and how brave they were to sing in front of everyone. I am very proud of all of them.”

This year’s English singing contest was an inspiring and cheerful event where students and staff enjoyed each other’s company and had fun, while singing in English. Thank you ISF staff and teachers for putting on a brilliant show. All students and staff attending absolutely enjoyed it!
