ISF Cambodia earns status as accredited organisation

Sport plays a major role in ISF Cambodia’s (ISF) mission of alleviating poverty for underprivileged children and their communities. Our team of coaches unpack football-related concepts – like sportsmanship and teamwork – so that lessons learned on the pitch go beyond physical fitness and technical agility. Our coaches work hard to incorporate values and skills best taught outside of the classroom environment. With a focus on peer interaction and life skill development, our Football Programme makes massive strides towards implementing lessons and values that lead towards sustainable changes.

Since 2013, ISF has worked alongside Coaches Across Continents (CAC), an award-winning organisation with a similar mission of empowering and promoting equal opportunity and inclusion for all. With CAC’s support and training, our coaches developed an extensive social impact curriculum, in which children learned about social issues such as addiction, gambling, and gender inequality, through engaging, football-based games. In 2019, ISF re-adapted CAC’s curriculum and began training other Cambodian coaches. Today, ISF trains 200 coaches each year.

We’re thrilled to share that CAC has officially announced ISF’s status as an accredited organisation in “Using Purposeful Play and Education Outside of the Classroom” to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals

This accreditation is a huge win for ISF. Since 2013, we have learned and evolved alongside CAC. CAC is a respected organisation that advances fellow NPOs and NGOs by building a network, providing resources, and supporting programmes so they can achieve the high standards set by the UN. We are thrilled with our new status and peer affirmation of our football programme’s quality.

As a member of CAC’s global family, we look forward to continuing to grow and redefine our programmes to best address the current and future challenges and needs. We’re grateful for CAC’s ongoing partnership and look forward to the support and knowledge we’ll learn and share with our growing network.
