After the success of the first event last year, the finals of ISF’s Got Talent 2016 were held on 27^th September to showcase students’ talents, build their confidence and challenge themselves.

Altogether, 42 groups of artists entered with 16 groups making it to the finals through a variety of captivating performances including vocalists, dancers, and painters!

Some students, like *Srey Nang, were at first very shy, but they bravely overcame their fears to put on a great performance. “I’m a bit scared of performing in front of all my friends and teachers.” -said *Srey Nang -“I want to win but the other students are also very good artists. I will do my best…I’ve been practicing every day and I know I can sing well.”

On the other hand, other students, like *Rithy, couldn’t wait to get up on stage. “I’m so happy to be a finalist! I’ve already told my family about it and they are all very proud. My mother always encourages me to do my best. We both believe that I can win!”

Amidst the singing, dancing and drawing, one performance stole the show. The winner of this year ISF Got Talent is singer *Kondara: “I am so happy and excited! When the judges announced my name, I couldn’t stop smiling and jumping around! I can’t believe I won the competition! Thank you for voting for me.”

Even *Kondara’s father got very emotional when he heard the news: “I am extremely happy. I am really grateful to ISF for organising this event, so that children like *Kondara can prove what they can do. As his father, I’ve always known about his talent. Since he was just a little boy, he’s always loved singing and dreamt to become a singer. Now, thanks to ISF he made it at least for a day! In my heart I’ve always known he could do it. I am very proud of him.”

ISF’s Got Talent was an inspiring and joyful event where students and staff left behind daily struggles to enjoy each other company and have fun. The talent show has revealed everyone’s secret gift. Our students were all great and all of us spent an amazing day at ISF. Judge Samedy said “The students enjoy ISF’s Got Talent and they are willing to commit, practice and do their best. It isn’t just about having fun. I think that this event can be a tool to discover children’s talents and bring them one step closer to their dreams. I am proud of them.”
