16 Students Get New Bicycles

ISF students receive bicycles

“It was not a dream, I really have my own bicycle now!” exclaimed one of our students who got a new bicycle through ISF.

In early December, 16 ISF students at Chbar Ampov got their own bicycles for the very first time. Our social workers selected 16 children among our Catch-Up and State School students who live furthest away from their schools. Every day they spent almost 1.5 hours walking to get to school. The bicycles distributed by our social workers mean they can get to school on time, safely and rested.

It was a very exciting day for our students like Pannha, a 14-year-old boy studying in Grade 6 in State School: “Every day, I had to wake up at 4 :30 am in order to get to school on time. I left my house at 5am and arrived the school at around 6:50 am. My body was all sweaty and felt very tired also. Having my own bicycle is a great feeling. I will try my best to take care of my bicycle and make sure I don’t lose it! I know how hard it is to walk so far to school, so I will share it my friends to help them come to school and back.”
