Martin Cubbon is an executive director of John Swire & Sons Ltd with specific​ responsibility for ‘non-core’ investment. He is also a director of United States Cold Storage and James Finlay Limited. He was previously Group Finance Director of Swire Pacific Limited from September 1998 to February 2009, Chief Executive of Swire Properties Limited from March 2009 until December 2014 and Corporate Development and Finance Director of Swire Pacific Limited responsible for all aspects of the group’s new business development and finance, reporting to the Chairman from 2014 to 2017. He was also a non-Executive Director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited from 1998 to 2009 and from 2015 to 2017. Mr. Cubbon was born in Britain in 1957. He graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BA Honours in Economics and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983, working for Arthur Andersen in the U.K. before joining Swire Group in 1986. Mr. Cubbon is married and has two sons and a daughter.
